Try This 7 Day Raw Juice Challenge! Your Body Will Love You For It!

Making dietary changes can be hard! Changing what you are used to eating isn’t always the most fun thing to do. This is one reason that I absolutely LOVE raw juice.

Our bodies NEED nutrients in order to function properly. These living nutrients are found in living food and what better way to get them in your body than to juice them!

When you make raw juice there are several things that happen. First, since you are extracting the juice from the fruit and/or vegetable, it makes it more concentrated. Therefore, you are drinking concentrated nutrients which is awesome! Secondly, there is no pulp in it and therefore it doesn’t take a lot of time to go through your system. You get the nutrients to your body quickly!

Drinking fresh juice helps you detox and can help boost your immune system! There is only positive results that you get from drinking raw juice!

You might be thinking, “how can I get this done everyday!?” It’s simple, and I’ll show you how.

How To Prepare Your Juice

  • There are several ways you can do this! I use a Champion Juicer which is my all-time favourite juicer because of it’s versatility. You can use any kind of juicer, just be sure to strain the pulp off if there is pulp.
  • You can choose to replace 1 meal with the juice OR you can drink it in between meals. If you drink it in between meals, be sure to wait until about 1.5 hours after you have eaten so it doesn’t mix with your food.
  • Make the juice first thing in the morning and put it in a container to take with you to work or school. I recommend about 1 liter per day.
  • If you don’t have time in the morning, make it in the evening before you go to bed and put it in the refrigerator.

What Fruits & Vegetables To Use

You can do a different juice everyday, or you can combine different fruits and vegetables! I will write farther down what juice combinations taste great!

  • Beets are an excellent source of iron and they also help to purity the liver and the blood.
  • Carrots are high in Beta Carotene which converts to vitamin A. Vitamin A is good for many things including your eyes, skin, immune system and hair.
  • Apples are really healthy for your liver! They help to flush out toxins and to keep your liver healthy.
  • Broccoli is great at reducing oestrogen in the body! It’s best to juice the big stem from a broccoli head. This is where the most juice is.
  • Oranges and Lemons are high in Vitamin C and this helps to boost the immune system! Lemons are also great at detoxing the body.
  • Ginger is excellent for reducing inflammation! If you have struggled with arthritis, osteoarthritis, inflamed intestines, and really anything that is inflamed then ginger is for you!
  • Cucumber is a good source of Pantothenic Acid which is a B Vitamin. This helps to put a damper on stress and helps your body to deal with stress and recover faster.
  • Celery is an awesome electrolyte restorer! If you have been working out and sweating a lot you should be drinking celery juice! It’s much more effective than gatorade and better yet, it’s all natural with no chemicals, colouring and preservatives added. 😜

My Favourite Juice Combos

There are several different combos that are my favourites and I’d love to share them with you! Sometimes, I just juice everything all at once but to be honest, it doesn’t always taste good. Here are a few tasty combinations:

  1. Apple, Carrot, Ginger
  2. Beets, Apples, Lemons
  3. Oranges, Ginger
  4. Celery, Cucumber, Apple, Broccoli
  5. Orange, Pineapple, Ginger

You can get adventurous! Mix and match different ones that you think might be good. What is most important is that this is a pleasant experience for you, not something that you will dread everyday!

raw juice

This juice challenge is also great because it starts to get you used to natural flavours. Since I have been eating plant based, much raw, and gluten free for almost a year now I can honestly say that I like how natural foods taste. I big salad with vegetables, dried cranberries, nuts and homemade pesto to me is much more tempting than a bowl of dairy ice cream. (I never thought the day would come that I would say that! haha, but it’s true!) Train your body to like healthy foods and juicing is the perfect way to start.

Happy Juicing! Let me know what combinations you liked best in the comment section below! 😊
